Previous Position:

Last November I took over a 4th grade teaching position at Forest Heights STEM Academy in Little Rock, AR. While there I was able to gain experience and some great resources, but wanted to find a school with a supportive community and one that was closer to home.

I completed my student teaching in El Dorado, AR in 2015.

Family Information:

I married my husband, Dillon Louton, in January of 2015.  We moved to Benton, AR with our fur-babies, Opie and Gus-Gus.

Personal Information:

I am from a small town in the mountains of Murphy, NC. My Dad’s work is what originally brought us to Arkansas and after graduating high school I decided to attend Henderson State University. This is where I met the man that would eventually become my husband while waiting on him and his family at Western Sizzlin’ in Arkadelphia (yes, our families still make fun of how we first met). I moved to El Dorado, Arkansas and moved in with my aunt and uncle to save money while I finished school. I originally majored in nursing, but once in the program I soon realized that it was not my calling. I switched my major to Early Childhood and since making the switch I have had absolutely no regrets. I love being a teacher!

When I am not teaching I like to spend as much spare time with family.  Majority of my family has moved back to North Carolina and it is always nice going back to the mountains for a visit. My husband’s family lives in Hot Springs and we enjoy spending the weekends grilling and going out to the lake when the weather is warm. I also love to spoil my two nieces, Cheyenne and Brooklyn when they come to visit!

Also I am a newly converted Razorback fan (thanks to a little pressure from the in-laws and hubby). I love calling the Hogs! Woo Pig Sooie!!!
